Kite runner is a movie based on a novel on the same name and it is about a well to do afghan boy Amir who is haunted by guilt of betraying his loyal servent as well as the best friend Hassan and the political situation of Afghanistan. Amir and Hassan like kite fighting. Hassan runs to get the dropped kite for Amir. So, Hassan is a kite runner for Amir.Asef, an older fellow beat and sexually assault Hassan but Amir just looks the scene hiding on a wall instead of helping him.Amir plots a conspiracy to fire Hassan from his servant by making him to confess stealing his watch.So, Hassan and his father leave the house. After soviet invade Afghanistan, Amir and his anti-communist father flee to Fremont, California as refugee. Rahim who was taking care of Baba’s house escapes to pakistan leaving it for Hassan and his family. Hassan and his wife are killed by Taliban and his son Sohrab is kept in an orphanage. Rahim called Amir to Pakistan telling”there is a way to be good again” and to bring Sohrab from Taliban controlled Afghanistan. Amir gets angry for being deceived not to know the fact for his whole life that Hassan was his step-brother.Amir meets Taliban officer Asef and finds that Sohrab with him as a dancing boy. Asef and Amir know each other as Asef bullied Amir in the past. They fight each other and Sohrab damaged Asef’s one eye using his slingshot that Amir had given to Sohrab’s father Hassan as a gift in his childhood. Amir and sorab ran away to Pakistan and then to California. Amir teaches Sohrab kite fighting saying the phrase Hassan said Amir in the past “for you thousand times over”.
